Dear Beboppers,
El Reeso here. Since starting ¡BEBOP LIBRE! a year ago, I’ve been astounded by the positive feedback on my posts. I don’t know why, but 1) somehow you found me, 2) you’ve taken the time to read unhinged diaries that somebody (anybody) should have stopped me from putting on the Internet, and 3) you stayed for more.
I never really felt like I needed to “find” my voice, because I already have one. Everyone does. A semi-consistent writing process over the last year has, however, helped refine mine. What’s more, your feedback has helped me determine what works and what leaves you asking, “What the HELL?”
And as for the new initiates (I see you), I’m confident these three posts will be more than enough to catch you up:
The days of psychoneurotic essays randomly showing up in your inbox drunk on La Milnueve are over. Not that I won’t write those anymore, but I’m taking off the training wheels to unapologetically give you what you really want: coherent posts conveying actual information on a regular basis.
Due to my vantage point in Santiago de Compostela, these will typically relate to Galicia and Spain more broadly. Most importantly, ¡BEBOP LIBRE! should be a blog that celebrates people, life, and culture.
It’s Year Two, and it’s time for our little blog baby to grow up. We made it together. 🫃
Expect one post per week. With few exceptions, these posts will be concise and to the point. I want to respect your time while showing you new things. This structure will pave the way for a new level of experimentation.
It starts tomorrow. Thanks for reading.
