You deserve a proper introduction to Bebop Libre — caffeine-aggravated monologues about systems, culture, and not quite belonging anywhere. My wife and I moved from America to Galicia, Spain in fall 2025, and here I write from a changed perspective.

A special note
I make stuff at the Bebop Libre blog for nobody’s entertainment but my own, and that’s why I can do whatever I want. That means authentic content for you — unless my wife stops me, which has happened many times. (You can only imagine what has gone unpublished even, surprisingly, as a result of my own discretion.) Still, not being beholden to publication guidelines or advertiser-friendly mealy-mouthed bullshit means I can just do things… on this blog at least.
Consequently, I’ve received so much positive feedback from people like you. One reader seemed to imply that I was “bat-shit crazy.” Another suggested that I consider actually writing about Spain. At the quarterly earnings call, I’ll be sure to let the shareholders know.
Anyway, thanks for joining me, and I hope you get a kick out of my work.

Do you like nerd stuff? Lodes & Lanterns is where I try to contain that. There, I’m releasing community-driven free and open source software for nerds (such as Torchfinder), along with blog posts. In terms of professional software, I’m building interesting things to be elaborated upon at a time of my choosing.
